Triumph Over The Summit of Mount Rinjani With These Gears
Recently we experienced a real Indonesian adventure by conquering Mt. Rinjani. Let’s cut the chase and let us tell you that this mountain is a hella ride. This experience is clearly one of the most challenging adventures we had thus far.
Let us walk you through the gears that have been a really good companion to us finishing this journey. Each to its own they say, here’s some recommendations from our summiteers.

Knockaround Campeones
This isn’t the first time I am using this item, I’ve used it for most of my adventures. Why do I love it so much? Simply because it doesn’t just protect my eyes from the sand and ashes. It also serves as sun protection given its wide frame. It covers my face up to my cheeks.
Montane Via Fang 5 Race Vest
This vest has been in serious hell with me during the summit attack. It’s an unorthodox move to use a running vest to hike, however, I needed something lightweight yet spacious enough to carry my essentials so I opted to use this vest.
It was able to house my 3L water bladder and two 300ml soft flasks. It has ample compartments to keep one jacket, small items I need. The shoulder straps are wide enough for perfect weight support. I barely felt any weight on my shoulder. Guess, this will be my go to choice for summit attacks.

Fjallraven Hydratic Trail Jacket
The Fjällräven Hydratic Trail Jacket was a game-changer during our early morning summit hike to Mount Rinjani. Starting the trek at 2:30am, the temperatures were cold and the wind sharp, but this jacket kept me well-protected. It's Hydratic membrane provided excellent wind proofing and waterproofing, so even in the early morning damp and chill, I stayed warm and dry. The jacket’s breathability was key as I began to heat up during the more intense portions of the climb, allowing moisture to escape without compromising comfort.
The lightweight design also made it easy to pack and wear without feeling weighed down as the sun came up and temperatures changed. Overall, the jacket’s blend of protection and comfort helped me stay focused and prepared throughout the demanding hike.
Alps Explorer Trekking Pole
This pole saved me from falling off the mountains, literally. With the tough terrain and strong winds I needed that extra support and stability on the steep and uneven paths. Its lightweight design helped reduce strain on my knees and the adjustable height allowed for better balance, making it easier to navigate the rocky sections and maintain my confidence on the tough terrain and elevations of Rinjani. Overall, these trekking poles are a MUST bring for me for any future hikes!
RAB Logo Beanie
The RAB Logo Beanie aside from completing my fit for my summit attack, it was another essential to keeping me warm in the cold early hours. Its snug, lightweight design provided great insulation without bulk, and the soft fabric kept me comfortable as I tackled the rocky ascent. It was a key piece in helping me stay warm.

Fjallraven Keb Agile Trousers
The Keb Agile Trousers were essential for flexibility and comfort. The stretch fabric allowed me to do easy movements over Rinjani's rough and steep terrain, which was physically demanding. Their breathability kept me comfortable, preventing overheating during long, strenuous climbs, while still being durable enough to withstand the rocky and uneven paths. The water-resistant feature came in handy when I encountered mist and light rain, keeping me dry and focused on the ascent.
Rab GTX Kangri Jacket
The Rab GTX Kangri Jacket, with its GORE-TEX membrane, was a perfect shield against the unpredictable weather at higher altitudes. As I climbed, the jacket's waterproof and windproof properties protected me from cold winds, maintaining my body warmth and keeping me dry. Despite the physically draining effort, the lightweight nature of the jacket ensured it didn’t add unnecessary bulk, allowing me to focus on the mental and physical endurance needed for the summit. Both pieces of gear worked together to ensure that I stayed comfortable, protected, and ready to handle the rigors of Mount Rinjani.

Keen Jasper Zionic
I recently picked up a pair of Jasper Zionic shoes, and I’m really loving them! They’ve got a unique design that’s not your typical hiking shoe, which is more ‘cool looking!’. I can wear them out casually without feeling like I just stepped off the trail.
The fit is just right—not too slim, not too wide. It’s super comfortable for all-day wear, and I appreciate that they don’t squeeze my feet or feel too loose.
The grip is impressive, too. The traction is functional, so I feel stable on rocky paths and uneven terrain. Plus, they’re really lightweight, which is a game-changer for long hikes.
The cushioning is also on point; it offers great support without being overly bulky. Overall, these shoes have been a fantastic addition to my outdoor gear, and I love that they blend style and functionality so well!
Exped Lightning 45L
I just started using the Exped Backpack, and I have to say, it’s been a game changer for my hikes. First off, it’s super lightweight, which is a huge plus. I barely notice it on my back, even after hours of walking. Another big win is that it’s highly water-resistant.
I also love the strap webbing—it's really handy. I can tighten it to keep the bag stable, which means way less bouncing around while I’m hiking. It makes a noticeable difference in comfort, especially on uneven trails. Overall, it’s just a really well-thought-out backpack that makes my outdoor adventures so much better!
Ciele Cap
Here's the ultimate cap: the Ciele Cap! First off, it’s incredibly lightweight, so it feels like I’m not wearing anything at all. The fast-dry fabric is a lifesaver—I can sweat all I want without worrying about those annoying sweat stains.
Another cool feature is the UPF +40 protection, which gives me peace of mind when I’m out in the sun. And the colour combo? For someone who will rock colours in the mountains, they totally have all range of colour combinations. Inexplicably head turners!
But here’s the kicker: the logo tag glows in the dark! It adds such a fun vibe, especially for summit attacks day! Overall, this cap is not just practical but also super stylish—perfect for all my adventures!
